Services

The Training and Development Department aims to promote equality and improve access for all Deaf people.  It does this by offering the following wide range of sign language courses and training services:

• Disability Discrimination Act Training
• Deaf Awareness Training
• British Sign Language courses:
• Level 1
• Level 2
• Level 3
• NVQ Level 3
• Baby Sign Language
• Communication Tactics
• Customised Courses
• Access Audit
• Consultancy for Organisations

The training:

• Will be delivered by qualified experienced Deaf trainers who represent service users in Liverpool.

• May be held at your venue or at MSDP. All training delivered at MSDP, gives learners first hand experience of meeting Deaf people.

The trainers:

• Have personal experiences of the social barriers faced by D/deaf people.

• Operate within the Social Model of Disability.

• Have experience of delivering partnership training within the public, private and voluntary sectors.

• Some of our trainers are licensed Disability Rights Commission trainers for the delivery of DDA Best Practice.

• One of our trainers is a Merseyside Police Diversity trainer.
