Supporting People
Welcome to Supporting People!
Our team is made up of a Supporting People Manager, 2 Team Leaders, an Administrator and a fantastic team of Support Workers. We also have a team of bank staff to cover when full-time staff are absent.
The team receive full training to NVQ Level 3. The team are trained to assess and review each service user to identify their needs. We make sure every service user is visited once or twice a week depending on their needs. We provide housing support to service users in 3 areas:
Liverpool
Wirral
Sefton

We promote issues relating to housing problems and work closely with Social Services, probation, health and other areas.
Some service users have difficulty living and coping with everyday issues. They may have sensory, physical, emotional or learning impairment. All service users are deaf, deafened or deaf-blind. We encourage them to live more independently in their own accommodation, supporting their needs and identifying the risks, by assessing them and letting them have their choice of living a better quality of life. Just a little additional support once or twice a week can make a difference to a person’s way of life.
We have recently had a service review from Wirral Local authority in relation to the Quality Assessment Framework and we achieved a level B. This reflects the good quality service we provide.
Accommodation Support
There are 2 types of accommodation support, which are short term and long term.
Short term is for service users who need support for a few months up to 2 years. When they are assessed and it is identified that they no longer need support, and can live independently, the support will then stop.
Long term is for service users who have greater needs, such as a learning disability, physical problems, sensory loss, mental health issues or they may be elderly. They are all individual tenancies and they can be in support for 2 years or more.
We can provide support in the following areas:
- Setting up and maintaining home of tenancy
- Developing social skills
- Behaviour management
- Managing finances and benefit claims
- Gaining access to other services
- Personal safety and security
- Finding other accommodation
- Maintaining safety and security of accommodation
