Our Team provides Social Work support to Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing People aged 18 years and over. We provide support for three Local Authorities - Liverpool, Wirral and Sefton and have access to the Local Authority computer systems which enables us to provide a comprehensive Social Work support service.
All our staff have an in-depth knowledge of issues surrounding Deafness and Deaf Blindness, and members of the team are able to communicate using the following methods:
- British Sign Language (BSL)
- Sign Support English (SSE)
- Lip reading/speaking
- Deaf Blind communication systems.
Our team provide a wide range of social care support under the Care Act 2014. We advocate and encourage, where appropriate, the use of qualified BSL interpreters who are registered with NRCPD to meet the needs of Deaf service users.
Our Social Workers offer duty drop in sessions, in which we can deal with a wide range of issues in relation to social care. Our current Duty Sessions are:

We accept referrals from individuals, family and support services. The person involved must give permission for a referral to be made on their behalf and for us to retain their details for future reference.
