Environmental Aids
If you are having difficulties hearing the doorbell, louder bells or visual alerts are an option.
We are able to adapt existing telephones by increasing the volume of the ringer or fitting flashing lights. If conversations on the telephone are causing anxiety, in most cases an amplifier can be fitted increasing the caller's voice enabling you to hear more clearly.
Standard smoke alarms are often heard whilst we're awake or wearing hearing aids but would you be able to hear one if you were asleep or not wearing your aid? We could, in these circumstances, provide a vibrating smoke alarm with additional visual alerts if needed.
You may find you no longer enjoy watching the television. Either the words are distorted or other family members tell you it is too loud. In most cases, a TV aid will solve this problem.
For work or to create independence in older children, you may have need for an extra loud or vibrating alarm clock.
Many deaf parents worry they wont be able to hear their babies and small children cry, there is equipment available to alert you to their needs.
If you feel we could be of assistance with any of the above mentioned and you are a resident of Liverpool City Council or Wirral Borough Council, then please get in touch with us for an initial assessment.
