Building/ Access Audits
What is an 'Access Audit'?
An access audit, as carried out by MSDP, is specifically designed to consider the needs of Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people. An audit is carried out from the point of entrance through to the exit of the building.
An audit may also include an evaluation of the training needs of staff - with regards to Deaf Awareness, British Sign Language and Environmental aids training.
A detailed report helps you to identify barriers and suggests ways of improving access to your services and information.
The report will also include references to the is Disability Discrimination Act.
