Family Sign Language
We have successfully delivered this programme during the past year. As a result of this, Liverpool Adult Education Services have provided MSDP with further funding to provide Training Courses to families and friends of Deaf/Hard of Hearing Children and young people.
We hope to encourage all your family members and friends to register for at least one of the courses, if not all three of them. Information on the courses is listed below.
CACDP Communication Tactics / British Sign Language Level 1 Course
The first two weeks will equip learners with skills for communication with Deaf or Deafblind people. B.S.L. Level 1 will enable learners to communicate with Deaf people about familiar day to day topics and activities.
There will be 4 assessments throughout the course.
Course Duration: 3 hours per week for 27 weeks
CACDP British Sign Language Level 2
Level 2 will enable learners to communicate with Deaf people in a range of familiar contexts, using longer and more open ended exchanges than at Level One. There will be 3 assessments at the end of the course.
Course Duration: 3 hours per week for 43 weeks

Baby Sign Classes
Baby Sign Language is a powerful tool that helps parents/carers bond with babies as young as 6 or 7 months old. By this age you could communicate with your baby without frustration.
Course Duration: 1 hour per week over 6 weeks
TO QUALIFY FOR FREE TUITION YOU MUST BE 19 YEARS OR OVER AND LIVE IN A LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORITY AREA
